The customer
The Embassy of the Sultanate of Oman in Bangkok appointed Vichai Trading (1983) Co., Ltd. to deliver audiovisual systems across several areas of its premises, including meeting rooms, reception spaces and other facilities.
The meeting room installation brings together practical communication technology and a carefully considered interior, with Sennheiser ceiling microphones playing a discreet role in space.
The design brief
The project placed emphasis on maintaining a clean, organized meeting environment. Locating microphones overhead keeps microphone hardware and associated cabling away from the conference table, preserving space for documents and allowing clear sightlines between participants.
For an embassy setting, this approach also supports the formal character of the room. Technology needs to serve the conversation while fitting naturally into its surroundings.
The solution
Sennheiser
TeamConnect Ceiling Medium provides a compact ceiling-based approach to speech capture. Its automatic dynamic beamforming technology adapts the pickup beam to the person speaking, supporting conversation without requiring participants to lean towards a fixed tabletop microphone.
The microphone’s discreet design complements the room’s ceiling, bringing audio capture into the architecture rather than adding equipment to the meeting surface. This combines a practical audio function with the visual simplicity central to the room’s design.
Technology that respects the setting
The embassy project brings functionality and appearance together. TCC M keeps microphone hardware off the table while complementing the formal character of the meeting room.
Professional speech capture becomes part of the room’s architecture, allowing attention to remain on the people taking part.
